This is another child's birthday card. This time for a girl (obviously i hear you say). You can see I was in a spellbinders phase.

I started by stamping the girl on white card (kanban stamp). Actually this was the non shiny side of centura pearl. Then i cut it out using a decorative square die from spellbinders. I cut a matching one in lilac. I then cut a piece of white centura pearl and embossed it with the heart lattice design. I cut a smaller strip and stamped the sentiment in the corner. This was matted on lilac card.

I cut a strip of lilac card with a spellbinder border die. i cut and embossed 2 buckles from holographic card and slid the strip in the top one and glued bottom one to them. I stuck this hiding the join.

I coloured the image in promarkers and mounted them as shown with foam pads. It was mounted on an A5 white linen base card. I added a few gems and the card was finished.

Easy enough but sweet for a little girl. Enjoy and keep crafting, Theresa xx

fussy and fancy challenge - dies &/or punches

Well today's offering is a spellbinders card. I started by embossing the background in centura pearl. I stamped happy birthday on the bottom strip. I cut a few dies alternating blue and white. As this set is intricate I used wax paper in the die and when I took it out I thought it looked too good to throw away so I used it as well as bottom layer.

Next I cut border in blue, mounted it on white centura pearl and cut it again leaving white borders. This sort of embossed the white card into the blue. I mounted the card as can be seen in picture and matted it on blue and put on white linen base card.

I added a triple bow in white grosgrain ribbon which I stuck onto a double twine bow. I added some flowers from Sweet lilac flowers which I coloured with distress inks and ink dusters. Finally I added a pearl embellishment to centre of dies, a pearl in bottom left hand corner, and a pearl swirl in upper right hand corner.  The finished size is A5.

This is my entry into the current Fussy and Fancy challenge where the theme is dies and punches.

Hope you like it and I would love to know what you think. Take care Theresa xx

Well i'm so pleased that this card made the top 5 in this challenge. Thank you xx

Party planet

Well today's card is one I made for a little lad who is going to be 7. i started with a piece of white card on which i stamped stars on upper 2/3 with versamark ink. I embossed with clear detail powder.I stamped the planet in sienna archival ink and clear embossed it. Next i drew a sort of moon shape on lower 1/3 and made craters by using darker promarkers. I then outlined it with a fine nibbed black archival pen.
Then I used ink dusters to colour the sky using distress inks: tumbled glass, broken china, stormy sky and faded jeans.
On a separate piece of white card I freehand drew a flag and colored it in. i wrote party planet on it. I made a small slit in one of the craters and slid the mast in attaching it from the back. I put a foam pad in middle to give it lift and movement. i stamped spaceships in black archival and heat embossed with clear powder. I coloured them in with glaze sakura pens. i attached the smaller one on the moon. I cut a narrow strip of acetate and attached it to the other space ship. Then i attached the other end to the back of the card. This gives the illusion that it is floating in space. hopefully you can see this in the picture

Or you might see it better in this next one....

Finished card is 8x6
Inside i hand wrote the message: hope your birthday is out of this world in a funky font.
That's all for today. Hope you like it and can leave me a comment to tell me what you think. Bye Theresa xx

Vintage

This is my DT entry for the new Sweet Lilac Flowers Challenge. This month it is vintage.

I started by cutting a piece of taupe card and inking it using distress inks: antique linen, old paper, tea dye and vintage photo in that order. i then stamped the music scroll and small leafy swirl from Claritystamp randomly across card using antique linen and old paper distress inks so they are there but not very obvious. Next i embossed it with a spellbinder embossing folder and wiped across it with enchanted gold gilding wax from pebeo. The embossed areas really took it up. Next i stamped my sentiment with coffee archival and clear embossed it.

Then i cut a smaller strip of taupe card and gave it same treatment. Next i mounted the 2 pieces onto a piece of brown card which i inked with vintage photo around edges. I attached a piece of lace and it bridged the 2 pieces nicely. Next i embellished the card with sweet lilac flowers. i inked the small white blooms with antique linen and the faintest hint of vintage photo. A brown pearl finished them nicely. Lastly i added 3 pearls in corner.

Then i finished card off by adding insert. I stamped 2 sentiments again from Claritystamp and added some music scrolls and small leafy swirls.

finished size is 8x8.
Whatever you do enjoy yourselves , Theresa xx

As I have used so many Clarity stamps on this card i would also like to enter
it into the Clarity stamp challenge which is vintage for this month.

A question of sport

Well as soon as I saw the challenge title from the Fussy and Fancy blog, 'A question of Sport' came to mind! I love watching Sue Barker battling with the sport celebrities to get them to behave.

Anyway back to the card. I used Clarity card and Clarity stamps for this. I stamped 'sport' in black archival and clear embossed it. Then I stamped the rest of the letters in black archival without embossing this time. I masked them off, then used different sport figures stamping them around the card and embossed them. I masked the 'O' in sport, and using bubble wrap, stamped randomly with versamark. With my brayer, splodge mat and distress inks I brayered in the sky and grass.  I used the NDC stamp around edges using ink off splodge mat. Then I inked the little scene in the 'O' using a make up sponge.

Next I cut a narrow strip of Clarity card and masked off edges with masking tape. I stamped and embossed centre area with balls, removed tape and drew 2 straight lines. I inked the sides with ink off the splodge mat and make up sponge and again edged it with NDC stamp.

Both pieces were mounted onto black card and then onto 8"x8" base card. I wrapped some twine in the gap and attached a football and 3 white craft candy and voila.

All for now Theresa xx

happy birthday

Today it is a spellbinder offering. I started by embossing the top part of a piece of white card with an embossing folder( it's my favourite but can't remember name. it is an m-bossability one).I stamped happy birthday in black archival ink in lower right hand corner. I die cut a piece of black card with the fancy lattice die and matted it on blue card. This was backed onto white card and again onto black before it was stuck onto the middle of card. From white card i cut 2 sets of flowers and 2 sets of florishes. The flowers were created from 2 dies each. A dazzler finished them off. Then I stuck them down on the diagonal and added the flourishes to complete the look. Finished card is A5.
Hope you had a good weekend, Theresa x
