ballerina 2

As you can see you didn't have long to wait. Here she is again. I do love her elegance and almost ethereal feel of her.
Today is time for another Fussy and Fancy challenge. This week it is being hosted by the talented Judy and she has chosen a bingo board as inspiration.

FUSSY & FANCY
SHABBY FUN BINGO

REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements are simple.
1.  Go for either one full line (that is using items selected vertical, horizontal or diagonally) or better still go for full house.  The chart is made so that full house will be quite easy and enjoyable to do.

Those entrants who go for full house are asked to leave a comment on the post on Judy's Blog athttp://inkypinkydelights.blogspot.co.uk/ telling me they have gone for full house.  She will then pop the names from the full house comments on my Blog into a hat and the lucky winner will win a little bit of something which she will donate.

2.  Each entrant is asked to tell us what line they have gone for, and what they have used to qualify please.

3.  Most of all, just have fun and let your creativity run away with you.

So this is how I created it. I started with the ballerina image from Morgan's Art World. It is a new image I have acquired and I fell in love with her. I used spectrum noir pencils to colour her in. She is monochrome apart from a bit of pink on her cheeks. I felt that it made her look more dreamy and vintagey.

I cut her out and distressed the edges with pumice stone and hickory smoke distress ink. I then matted it onto black and pearlescent silver.

Then I turned my attention to creating the textured backgound. I cut a piece of white card and embossed it with the swirly embossing folder by Sue Wilson. Next I grouted the card with polar white glitter embossing paste by Creative expressions. This is a technique that I read about on Sue Wilson's blog and you can find a video about it here.
I matted this on red once dry.

While it was drying I turned my attention to some die cutting. I have had this die for several years and i have only used it once before. So I made myself use it. It is a spellbinders one for Heartfelt creations. I cut one out of red and another out of black. I chopped each in half and then offset them slightly so the black creates a shadow.
I also cut the bella rosa die from pearlescent silver card.

Now it was time to assemble and embellish. On an 8x8 basecard I put down the background. I stuck some black lace across the middle.
I mounted the ballerina onto foam pads to give her some dimension and before sticking down I hinged the die cut as shown. Now it appears to be peeping from under the image.
The other die I attached to the right upper corner.
Then I made a double bow with ribbon and also with twine and stck them down. I chopped the bella rosa die cuts and used them as shown tucked under bows.
I embellished the bows with a Sweet lilac flower.
The final touch was added by some pearls in the corners.

And I believe that thus I made full house. I really enjoyed making this and now it is over to you. For further inspiration please have a look at the main blog to see what my team mates have come up with.
Take care and see you over the other side, hugs Theresa xx.

ballerina

Where is the time going? It is Tuesday again and so time for another Through the Craft Room Door challenge.

Today I have something different for you as inspiration. I decided to decorate a candle. All the details will be on the TTCRD magazine which will be published in March.

This week our sponsor is Morgan's Art World. I was lucky to be able to chose this elegant ballerina to work with and you will find her here. She is so graceful is she not? I really fell in love with this image and I'm sure she will appear again on my blog as I will be using her again.

The prize this week is 3 images of your choice. And don't forget that the theme is always anything goes so you can join us with anything you make.

Just remember to colour on the wrong side of the image when you are going to use it on a candle.

I really enjoyed colouring this image and then using it on candle. I hope it meets with your approval, hugs Theresa xx

add some red - guest DT piece for IndigoBlu

Hello there. I am so chuffed today to be sharing this piece with you. Well last month I was the lucky winner of the IndigoBlu challenge and a s a result i was asked to create something as inspiration for this next challenge.

So here is my project. It is a recycled coffee tin. I do enjoy creating something useful from something that otherwise would have ended in the trash.
Next Iused watercolour paper and spritzed it generously with water. Then I sprinkled on some brushos. I used crimson, yellow and ultramarine and spritzed some more so the colours ran further.

When I was happy with the blend i let it dry. Then I turned to stamping the butterfly on clearly for art transparent film using cobalt blue archival ink. I left it to dry and in the meantime I rummaged through my stamps to look for the ones I wanted to use.

I picked Sarah's choice set. This is one that I use very often. I also used Plume,
I used - archival inks: watering can, cobalt blue, fern green, red geranium.
            versamark inkpad
            ivory embossing powder
            red tinsel embossing powder
            glossy accents

So once the paper was dry and cut to size I set about creating the background. I used the script from Sarah's choice first and stamped while holding it in my hand and this a more patchy look. Then using the hessian from same set I stamped along both upper and lower edges.

Next came the ink splats and then the feathers. Then I dried the paper with my heat gun and turned to the versamark and the bubbles. I went around the edges with this stamp and embossed in ivory.

Once I'd heat set it, I stamped again in a random session and embossed in red tinsel. Finally i stamped the words create art in black archival.

I then used mod podge to stick paper to tin and once dry I mod podged the outside as well. I then added some twine at the top and bottom as shown and used mod podge to stick it down and give it a protective coating.
I coloured the hearts in the feathers with a red sharpie and added some glossy accents.

Now I could finish the butterfly. The film was dry and so I decided that I wanted it to have a subtle shimmer to it. So before I cut it out I covered it with the Tim Holtz frosty film.

Once I had fussy cut it, I coloured it in on the reverse using sharpies. Then I heated it and molded it. Once cold this film will retain it's shape. I then stuck it to the tin as shown. And so my brushes have a new home.

I do hope my project inspires you to take part in the IndigoBlu challenge. If you need further inspiration head back to the IndigoBlu challenge blog where you will find other projects from the DT.

Easter blessings.....

Hello my friends. Easter will soon be here and so when I went through a couple of challenge blogs I decided to try and get started with some Easter cards.

This is the first one I made. The stamps are from creative stamping magazine from last year. It involved a bit of careful masking for the main image.

I stamped in black archival ink and then coloured in using spectrum noir pencils.
I finished it off with some glossy accents on handle.

For the second card I cut 2 pieces of post-it notes that were big enough for chosen stamps. I stuck them to basecard where I liked the position and applied tumbled glass with a brush. I added some depth with weathered wood and a make-up sponge.

When I removed the post-its I was left with 2 white rectangles. i then stamped the images. The flowers are from Claritystamp and the message from the magazine. I thought it needed something else and then I saw the snail and decided to add him to picture. I really like him.
I outlined the boxes with a fine black micron pen.

I coloured the daffodils with spectrum noir pencils and deepened the shadows with the grey scale pencils.
I finished it off with some glossy accents on the shell.

The last card also involves some masking where the 'eggs' are concerned.

The stamps are from the magazine and the sentiment is from Claritystamp. Here I stamped with potting soil archival ink and clear embossed the basket. I did not emboss the eggs or the chick. Again coloured with spectrum noir pencils.

I hope you enjoy my offerings. I sure had fun creating them, hugs Theresa xx

wedding cards

Hello there. Back again with 3 cards this time. I was browsing the Less is More challenge and their theme this time is white. It reminded me of these cards that I don't think I had blogged. I made them all last year.

The first one is totally white and it was commissioned by my friend for a couple they knew. I was asked for no ribbon, pearls etc and to have it all white.

So I turned to dies for this as I felt that they would fit the bill. The embossing folder is one from Sue WSilson and the hearts are spellbinders.

The flourish is nipped from a cherry lynn die and the alphabet is a Crafter's Companion one.

It inspired me to make the other 2 cards. They follow the same layout but I just added a hint of colour. The first has pearlized silver card and silver pearls on white card.

The second is ivory with gold. I hope you like my CAS offerings for today, hugs Theresa xx.

I would like to enter these cards in the following challenges:

Less is More - happy 5th birthday - white on white
Word art Wednesday - anything goes
