tea ...

Hello my friends. It is Tuesday and so time for another Through the Craft room door challenge. As always the theme is anything goes.

Our sponsor this week is Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

Welcome to the brilliantly bizarre brain of Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  Here you will find monsters, aliens,
odd balls and Dundertons as well as many many more wonderful digital stamps. Our artist and founder cut
his teeth in the craft world at the company "Just  Inklined", where his unique digis made a huge impression.
We're hoping to continue to entertain and amuse, with our growing catalogue of great value digis with
a sense of humour.
It's Dr. Digi's 4th Birthday!!! To celebrate we have an EXTRA SPECIAL prize up for grabs. Want to win an EXCLUSIVE Dr. Digi mug, 4 free digis and an "I Love Tea" badge? Then try your hand at our month long Mug-A-Thon challenge!
To enter, just post you crafty creations using any Dr. Digi image with the "I Love Tea" mug in it, or any Dr Digi tea time sentiment, backing paper or element. In fact if it's Dr. Digi and Tea themed you can put it in!
At the end of the month our fab design team will pick the lucky winner, who can then choose if they want an exclusive and very limited edition weekend Walter or Weekend Wanda mug and the other goodies.
Good luck and put the kettle on

Prize 2 Digital images

I chose to work with a sentiment sheet which you can find here. I felt that it went very well with the stamped images that I coloured and gilded. The papers are all Kaisercraft that I die cut with some nestabilities.
So have a cup of tea and hope to see you on the other side, hugs Theresa xx.

things with wings

Hello my friends. I won't be very active over the next couple of weeks as being on hols I am not crafting. However I managed to find a card that I hadn't blogged that fit a challenge.

This was a commissioned card  and the stamps and layout etc were pre- determined to match a previous card I'd made but in different colours. The stamps are all from Stampendous.
I triple embossed the tag in clear UTEE and stamped the spring bouquet in Black archival while it was still warm and molten. I also added some glitter and mica pieces from the stampendous jewel kits.

I stamped the butterfly twice on black card and clear embossed them. I painted them in with acrylic paints, using the same ones in the background. I fussy cut them and then cut out the front wing only off the second one to add more dimension.

I stamped the black base card with a couple of flourishes using white and gold acrylic paint.
Then I added ribbon and twine to tag and fixed the butterfly with the wings proud to give the illusion of flying.
I attached it to base card and added the sentiment that was a die cut from Kanban - an old QVC kit in the time of Dawn Bibby.
Hugs, Theresa xx.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
Twofers Challenge - these are a girl's best friend: flowers and butterflies

Christmas in July

Hello again. You might just get bored of me this week! It's time for another Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge. The theme is Christmas in July and it was chosen by the talented Norma.

This is what Norma had to say:

Hello!  It's Norma here and I'm delighted to be hosting this challenge for the next fortnight.  I've chosen the ever-popular 'Christmas in July' as our theme.  If you haven't started this year's Christmas-card collection already, now's a good time to start.  It will lighten the Christmas stress and rush!
I hope you will join us.  We look forward to seeing all your creations.

We are being sponsored by Magnolia-licious this week so I decided to use a Tilda image. I coloured her in using promarkers. I could see her wearing a blue dress in my head so I went with it.
I also wanted to give her a vintage look so I tried to age the white as much as I could with old paper.
I wanted the image to tie in with the backing papers as much as possible.

I die cut the image using a spellbinders die and inked the edges. This was matted onto a blue diecut.
I cut a shaped easel card with the grande scalloped circles from spellbinders and used kaisercraft papers.

I punched a strip of navy using a Martha Stewart punch and added a piece of ribbon to it.
I embellished with some further die cuts using a holly flourish and a swirl both by spellbinders.
The candy cane is a sizzix die by Tim Holtz.
I added some pearl swirls in the mix.
On the inside I cut a similar strip in navy, made a raffia bow and added a large brad with a greeting.
So I hope I have inspired you now and it would be fab to see you on the FFFC site, hugs Theresa xx.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

time...

Hi again. Hopefully this is a very quick post. I had these stamps from Carabelle studios for a few months and hadn't use them yet. When I saw the them for the LIM challenge I k new what I was going to do.

So I stamped everything in black archival ink. I added some colour to hand and fob watch with spectrum noir pencils. I went over the nails with a clear glaze sakura pen.
I added glossy accents to fob watch and a watered down wash of silver metallic sakura pen.
And there you have it. A CAS card, hugs Theresa xx.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Less is More - one layer card: time
Allsorts challenge blog - one for the boys
Twofers challenge - clocks and/or time

a gentle baby

Hello my friends. It has been a while since I blogged but in my defence I have been very busy getting various samples ready before I go on holiday.
It is Tuesday again and hence time for the Through the Craft Room Door challenge.
Before I launch into it, just a quick reminder that the new TTCRD magazine is now out. There is a video of it on my sidebar.

The sponsor for this week is A Day for Daisies.

I chose this beautiful image to work with. I thought I should make a move on my Christmas cards and so picked a Gentle Baby. I really loved this image immediately, I thought there was so much tenderness in the way mother and child are looking at each other.

I also thought it would be fun to make 2 cards and see if I could change them somewhat.
So for the first card I painted the image with a damp brush and distress inks.

I also used a spellbinders die, snowy acetate and some glitter.

For the second card, I flipped the image horizontally. This time I colouroed it in with promarkers. I felt that it looked quite different even though it was the same image, do you agree?

So as usual, the theme for the challenge is anything goes. For further inspiration using images from our sponsor you can see all the fab projects submitted by my team mates here.
So hope to see you on the other side, hugs Theresa xx
