baubles ...

Hello my friends. It is Tuesday again and time for another TTCRD challenge. Is it just me or is time really flying? I'm finding it hard to keep up.

Anyway less of my waffle and onto the details.
This week our sponsor is Polka Doodles. Th winner gets a $15 voucher to spend in store.

I decided to work with this sweet image called Winter deer. I gave it a vintage make-over and decided go make it into a bauble hanging from a Christmas tree.
All the details will be published in the next magazine due out in December.

As always our theme is anything goes, so you can join in with anything you make. You can link up on the TTCRD site here and also find all the inspiration from the DT and our guest DT.
See you there, hugs Theresa xx.

Christmas carols

Hello my friends. I'm late on parade but blogger wasn't playing nicely for me. Yesterday was the start of another Fussy and Fancy Challenge

Our host for this week is the lovely Tone and she chose the theme of Music. This is what she had to say:

Hello Fussy and Fancy Friends!
I am hosting the challenge this fortnight and I have chosen music as theme.
I guess we all, in some way, have some scraping stuff realted to music....like notes, «dancing» motives, instruments and so on.
Hope you enjoy the theme and I am so much looking forward to see all your great work.

We are being sponsored by Magnolia-licious.

I remembered I had some Tim Holtz Christmas kraft paper that had sheet music on it. I decided to use it and after I finished the first card I thought that it might look even better more distressed, so I made a second one.

So I cut the 6x6 sized sheet and started inking it. First I coloured the holly and berries with crushed olive, lucky clover and candied apple. On the background I used crushed olive distress ink and then vintage photo and walnut stain. This made the resist really pop.

Then I looked at the embellishments. I diecut holly leaves and pine branches from the Tim Holtz thinlets out of green and kraft card. The poinsettia is from spellbinders and is cut from pearlized card. I inked all the diecuts with walnut stain distress ink.

I added some natural twine to corner first and then assembled the leaves and flower. I then added berries and gypsophila from my stash. The sentiment was lying on my desk and I inked it with walnut stain.

Then i decided to make a second one, more distressed. So I stressed the edges before and after inking.

To distress further I decided to spaltter some paints on the background and the diecuts. I used picket fence and tarnished brass. The latter added a little shimmer to the card.

So now the verdict is in your hands. Which one do you like best?

I would love you to join us in this challenge. For further inspiration visit the main challenge blog here.

Fallen Christmas Tree...

Hello my friends. Back again with my project for Through the Craft Room Door. incidentally the new magazine has just been published and you can see a small clip on the right hand side of the bar. As always there is loads of inspiration and for a small subscription fee you can have 6 issues of the magazine in a year. It is jam packed with projects and inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is Limited Runs Digital Stamps. The image I chose to work with is Fallen Christmas Tree Cupcake
The prize is 3 images of choice.

Again this was an exercise in colouring and i did use a number of different pens such as sakura glaze, glitter pens, promarkers...
All the details will be in he next issue of the magazine, in time for Christmas.

So come and join us over at TTCRD and remember that our theme is always anything goes. Hope to see you on the other side, Theresa xx.

peacock hues

Hi there. Time is really going fast and I can't seem to keep up with anything. When I saw the challenge on LIM blog I knew immediately which stamp I wanted to use. I could also picture it in my head.

Easier said than done! I tried with archival inks first but managed to smudge the stamp. The second try was better but the colours weren't as vibrant, so this was put away too. Then I tried with distress inks and I think it turned out OK.
I used distress markers: wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover and twisted citron.
The sentiment is stamped with mermaid lagoon and blueprint sketch.
All the stamps are from Penny Black.

In the end I was pleased with how it turned out and the roundedness of the vase and baubles. What do you say?

hugs, Theresa xx
